I dunno. I'm gonna have to think about it more -- I enjoy doing drabbles, but I want to get some other stuff done too. . . Mainly Forgotten Vow's backstory, finishing up the ball chapter of "The Tale," and more on "There's Always Tomorrow" (remember that?). So we'll see.
As for now, I should catch up on the "Not Always" sites -- laters!

11:42 pm - Few Other Notes

-->Played some EVL today, though I stopped after sending him to his shop -- I was spending a bit too much time converting the place into a robot superstore. So currently I only have half an update. I can tell you that the new baby's been born, and it's another girl! So tomorrow you say hello to Nell Liddell. Now we just need more one kid, and we'll be set!
-->Working on "Finding You" and "Forgetting You" -- in a rather weird way for the latter. I started it early because I had some pretty vivid scenes in my head for it. However, when I started it -- yeah, it just wasn't working right. So instead I'm going to be writing up those scenes that are most vivid for now (which is mostly Alice finding each Victor memory), and then work around them.
-->Got my hair cut today! Mom actually cut it for me to save a few bucks. My head feels so much lighter and cooler! :D Which is good, because it's been hot and sticky as of late.

-->Inkwell Secundus update: Somehow, I can always rely on the Van Dorts. And hey, we might get a baby in the next Liddell update! (Watch, in a horrible twist Lorina will have twins.)
-->Watched Corpse Bride on BluRay in full today. Beautiful picture, and I'm still amazed by the incidental sounds that you can hear now. If only it had gotten more special features!
-->Also watched a few more Scott Pilgrim special features (specifically, music featurette and the weird-as-*bleep* censored dialogue thing) and the Roxy Vs Ramona fight. This of course got me thinking about my recurring idea "Victor Van Dort Vs The World" -- specifically, who to use for the Evil Exes. Basically, I've been considering revamping the original line-up. When I first came up with the idea, the exes, in order, were: Flint Lockwood, Hiccup Haddock III (and Toothless), Baby Brent, Astrid Hofferson, the Tweedles, and Lord Barkis Bittern. You may notice that four of them are from the movies Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs and How To Train Your Dragon. I was really into those movies back then, and I still enjoy them now -- but I'm thinking that maybe I shouldn't throw those two fandoms into a story where the main focus would be on an Alice/CB/BTTF crossover (Marty's Stephen Stills and Doc's got a sort of "Young Neil" position as the band's tech guy).
So! How to revamp the exes. There's one major change that I may have already mentioned (I know it came up on tumblr) -- instead of Barkis as Gideon (#7), it's Bumby. Bumby just makes WAY more sense (and even looks more like Gideon). The Tweedles for the twins (#5 & #6) have also been slightly tweaked -- the Orderlies are the actual keyboard players, and the Tweedles are their battle monsters. I'm not quite sure what to do for the first four, though. I MIGHT be able to use Barkis for Todd Ingram (Ex #3), and I'm vaguely considering Alt!Jennifer from the Game for Roxy (#4). But who do I do for Matthew Patel (#1) and Lucas Lee (#2)? Hmmm. Carpenter might work for one of those roles. . .
-->I also may be revamping some titles for Forgotten Vow's backstory trilogy. Originally, the titles were:
Losing You (about what happened after CB to keep Victor from marrying Victoria)
Finding You (about Victor moving into Houndsditch, and scenes from the time between that and A:MR showing Victor and Alice getting closer)
Forgetting You (about, basically, how A:MR would be different if Victor was a part of it, and Victor's own adventures while Alice saves Wonderland)
Now, though, I have some alternate ideas for the first and last ones, based on songs:
Not The One for Losing You, based on "Sally's Song" (I would have used the full "For I Am Not The One," but that's already a prompt fic title)
Don't You Forget About Me for Forgetting You, from the song of the same name
I think they work well, but I don't know what to use for "Finding You" in that case. ("Getting To Know You" is a possibility, but I'm not sure how much I like it.) I'd intended the Blank You titles to be placeholders anyway, but I'm sort of used to calling them that now. . . Thoughts?
-->On the delicious side of things, got a chocolate ice cream at a local ice cream parlor today -- had a crunchy chocolate swirl in it, with other nummy things. Om nom nom. Good day for it too -- it actually stayed sunny for a good while, and got pretty warm. I actually put my fan in my window for the first time.
-->Getting my hair cut sometime this week, preferably tomorrow or Tuesday. I not only want a cooler hairstyle for summer, I'm just plain sick of how long it takes to brush at the moment. Plus I have a coupon.

11:40 pm - Weather Being Weird
|
Was cloudy, then sunny, then looked like it was going to rain, then got sunny again, then rained WHILE it was sunny, and finally ended the day on partly cloudy. I have NO idea what to expect weather-wise for this summer. At least I got my walk in. And I got Subway for lunch and dinner (used a two-for-one coupon), though I dunno if I want to go back to the one I went to. They were quite stingy on the sauce on the pizza one. (Doesn't help that it almost all leaked out before I ate it.)
Other news of the day -- Blu-Rays! I watched some more of my Scott Pilgrim one (yay special features!) and some of my Corpse Bride one. Funnily enough, the CB one doesn't have animated menus -- it actually goes straight to the movie when you put it in. You just get a static menu when you press the menu button. Special features are identical to the DVD. Picture quality is of course lovely, but what actually got my attention was the SOUND.

I never heard it before! It was WEIRD. But cool. :)
On the fanfic front, I'm mainly working on "Finding You," the next story in Forgotten Vows's backstory. Basically it's him moving into Houndsditch, and he and Alice connecting in the time between that and the start of A:MR.

Well, honestly. I'm all inspired for it at the moment, so. . .

I'll do my best. :)
Anyway, parents should be away for one more day at least (they were going to stay until Tuesday, but the forecast is saying rain Monday), so hope for good weather tomorrow. I'd like to get an ice cream treat on my walk (there's an ice cream shop I haven't been to in ages that I'd like to try again, just for fun).

In other news, the parents have gone on a little vacation to Block Island. The weather has reacted to this development by being stubbornly cloudy, rainy, and foggy. >.< God damn it. I was kind of hoping to enjoy some nice weather while I was home alone. And of course Mom's at Block Island to hit the beach. . . *sigh* Keep your fingers crossed it gets better tomorrow.
And now, I am starving and will have dinner.

I actually finished "Losing You" the other day -- I think that's the quickest I've ever written a chapter story, even one as short as this. I'd like to get another pair of eyes on it before I start posting it up at FF.net, so. . .you guys want to look at it, tell me if it works or not? #1: Thinking about a vid set to "This Day Aria" from MLP: FiM's Canterlot wedding episodes, with Alice as Cadence, The Queen as False Cadence/Bumby as Chrysalis, and Victor as Shining Armor.
#2: Alice-kara. As in, Alice as Linkara. "This penny dreadful sucks!" With Victor as The Spoony One/Dr. Insano. (Specifically, a normal Victor for Spoony, and Butterfly Boy for Vicsano.) No, I'm not sure who should be the other members of Channel Awesome.
And yes, I do sort of ship Linkara/Spoony and/or Linkara/Insano. What can I say, they seem to get the most interesting stories written about them.

What can I say, I like this family. I'm starting to understand why people like doing legacies now. Anyway, let's see what they're up to:

A fairly short McFly update -- though I do get the kids into private school, which must count for something. I find it amusing Dave cared more about that then his parents, though. Ah well, whatever makes him happy. I still gotta work on getting him some scholarships -- college is a-coming!
Not much else to report -- Mom and I had our walk, and I worked more on "Losing You." I'm already up to Chapter 4, though it may be Chapter 3 -- depends on whether or not I decide to combine the current Chapters 2 and 3. I get the feeling they might work better that way. Either way, this is looking to be a rather short tale. Then again, it's mainly warm-up for getting Victor into "Madness Returns. . ."
-DW: And it might be nice to be able to finish a story relatively quickly for a change.-
LOL, yes, true. We'll see how it goes.

Though we've got a new router, so upstairs wireless has been restored, hooray. Mainly, though, today was spent working on "Losing You," getting another update for Victor's and Alice's journals at the Restful Springs site, RPing on tumblr, and watching Helloween. Oh, and doing a little editing on "Secundus's" epilogue, though I want to give it another pass. A few parts of it feel like they need more tweaking. It's kind of hard to get in everything I wanted to get in.
Anyway, update of the day are new sections added to the above links, so check 'em out if you're so inclined. I'm back to tumblr/writing now.

No, something hasn't gone wrong with Chester -- I'm actually on him right now. Our router has decided to die, so in order to get any internet, I've got to be plugged in directly down here. Fortunately it'll just be for tonight, I hope. Dad plans to get a new router in the morning.

Because I felt like playing the family today. Let's see how they're doing in their new house:

I'll probably hold off on #3 until Lorina's grown up more and thus can get into college, freeing up her room. Not like EVL and Felicia can't afford plenty of Elixir of Life.
Anyway! Nothing much else to report -- been icing my ankle, and the swelling's gone down a lot. Maybe eventually it'll be an ankle again. Right now, I've probably got stuff to do on tumblr, so later!

1. My ankle's doing better -- it's already easier to walk and move it. It does have some swelling, though, which is annoying. I've been trying to keep it up and not walk too much still. And I've got some ice on the swelling. Hopefully I'll be better sooner rather than later.
2. We have an ![[info]](http://l-stat.livejournal.com/img/userinfo.gif?v=92.2) ink_sec_sims update: Emmett Brown -- has a rather boring day. It's tough when your Sims live alone. I gotta get Carmen into the family. Also a Servo. Also Dee. I need to do lots.

11:28 pm - Sooo, This is a nice way to start the week

I'm going out for my walk with Mom this morning, and I'm stepping off the last step of the back porch, when out of nowhere my foot goes somewhere completely different than I intended and the next thing I know I'm on my ass with a hurt ankle. >.<
-D: Great Scott, are you all right?-
Yeah, relatively speaking. I've been trying to keep the damn thing elevated most of the day. Which mostly involves propping it up on my bed while I sit sideways in my chair. It's swelled a little, and it hurt some when I move it, but I can walk (with a little limp) and there's been no blinding pain. I think I just gave it a nasty twist. Dad actually fell victim to that same step a couple of days ago. Damn, I hope I recover fast -- he seemed to. *fingers crossed*
Not much else I can say for today -- I was upset enough to not do any Sims, so sorry to those who were interested in an update on that front. We watched MST3K's take on "The Incredibly Strange Creatures Who Stopped Living And Became Mixed-Up Zombies" -- oh God, such a horrible movie. XD Mike, Joel, Bots, I have no idea how you stood it. :p But it was nice to have something to laugh at after my accident. I've also started on Forgotten Vow's backstory fics, and so far so good. Though I'm still searching for decent titles. I'm using the working title "Losing You" for this first one, which picks up after Corpse Bride and explains how Victor got to Houndsditch (his parents not believing him, Pastor Galswells denouncing him as damned, Victoria getting married to a non-asshole). Anyone got any suggestions?
All right, I'm rewatching the Helloween Let's Play of Condemned, and I've only got like 6 videos left to go. Back to that for a while.

10:14 pm - Happy Mother's Day!

Mine was pretty low-key -- I gave my mom a card, then the parents and I went out so I could get her a plant she liked. We also stopped for lunch at our favorite little restaurant. Had a delicious chicken Parmesan and some friends. Om nom nom. After that, it was back home, where I hung out on tumblr and amused myself online. Didn't feel in the mood for Sims today, so you'll have to wait until tomorrow for an ink_sec_sims update.
However, you don't have to wait until tomorrow for a "Secundus" update! Chapter 19 is live! A quick word of warning, though -- I gloss over the details, but there's a rather icky scene in there. Involves spiders. If you're a regular reader, you know probably what I'm talking about. So yeah, proceed with caution if you feel the need.
At any rate, I'm rewatching Helloween's "Condemned: Criminal Origins" Let's Play, so later!
